ASTM D3612 Gas Chromatography
Gas chromatography for the determination of dissolved gases in insulating oil has become an essential tool for power supply enterprises to identify latent overheating and discharge faults in oil-filled power equipment during operation. This technology plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective operation of power grids, and is also a necessary testing method for manufacturers of oil-filled electrical equipment.
The HZGC-1212A transformer oil chromatographic analysis system adopts a three-detector process as recommended by industry standards. A single sample enables complete analysis of all dissolved gas components in insulating oil.
Insulating oil gas content is an important indicator for oil quality supervision. Currently, the carbon dioxide elution method specified in DL/T 450-1991 is suitable for determining acid gas content in oil, while the vacuum pressure difference method in DL/T 423-1991 has limitations due to the complexity of vacuum instrumentation.
The HZGC-1212A transformer oil chromatographic analysis system is designed in full compliance with the chromatographic process requirements of the People's Republic of China Electric Power Industry Standard DL/T 703-1999 "Determination of Gas Content in Insulating Oil by Gas Chromatography." The system is equipped with a high-sensitivity thermal conductivity detector (TCD), a hydrogen flame ionization detector (FID), and a nickel catalyst converter. It can measure nine gas components dissolved in transformer oil: hydrogen (H₂), oxygen (O₂), nitrogen (N₂), carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO₂), methane (CH₄), ethane (C₂H₆), ethylene (C₂H₄), and acetylene (C₂H₂). Its performance meets the requirements of DL/T 703-1999.
