XLPE cable is a type of cross-linked polyethylene insulated power cable.
This type of cable plays an extremely important role in the power grid and is suitable for power transmission and distribution in power transmission substations. The insulation layer of XLPE cables is made of cross-linked polyethylene material, which undergoes a specific chemical treatment process to transform the molecular structure of polyethylene from linear to network structure, thereby improving its heat resistance and mechanical strength. The long-term allowable working temperature of XLPE cables is usually 90 ℃, suitable for control and protection circuits with AC rated voltage below 450/750 volts. Common specifications include XLPE insulated high-voltage cables for 110kV, 220kV, and 330kV, as well as XLPE DC cables for high-temperature and high-voltage power transmission systems.
