DC high-voltage generator is a device used for high-voltage testing in power systems and electrical equipment. Its operation process requires strict adherence to relevant regulations to ensure safety and testing accuracy. The following are detailed pre use preparation steps:
Check the integrity of the equipment: Before use, the connecting cables of the DC high voltage generator should be checked for any open or short circuits, the voltage doubler should not have condensation, and the equipment should not be damaged such as breakage.
Connect the control box and the pressure doubler: Connect the control box and the pressure doubler with a five core cable to ensure that there is sufficient distance between the pressure doubler and the control box. The protective grounding wire, working grounding wire, and grounding wire of the discharge rod should be separately connected to the grounding wire of the test sample (i.e. one point grounding), and it is strictly prohibited to connect the grounding wires in series with each other.
Set the overvoltage protection setting value: Place the power switch in the off position and return the voltage regulator potentiometer to zero. The overvoltage protection setting value should be set to 1.1 times the test voltage.
Connect current limiting resistor: If conducting capacitive load testing, a current limiting resistor should be connected.
In general, after completing the above steps, the overvoltage protection setting value can be verified for no-load boosting according to the operating instructions of the equipment, followed by leakage and DC withstand voltage tests on the test sample. Throughout the entire operation process, it is essential to strictly adhere to safety regulations to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
