The maintenance cycle depends on the number of times the instrument is used. If the instrument is used frequently, it is recommended to do it once a week.
The maintenance shall be carried out according to the following steps:
(1) Carefully insert the cleaning brush provided by the manufacturer into the pipe of the measuring chamber from the exhaust outlet to clean the soot, and gradually extend it inward until the exhaust outlet at the other end. During operation, be careful not to touch and damage the optical lens at both ends. The brush cannot be inserted from the exhaust gas population to prevent damage to its internal temperature sensor.
(2) Gently wipe the lens at both ends with a soft and clean wet cloth (not too wet). Be sure not to damage the lens, and turn on the instrument power only after the water on the lens surface has evaporated.
(3) Clean the inside and outside of the sampling probe and catheter with clean water and a clean cloth.
The opacimeter can not only measure the black smoke in diesel engine exhaust, but also measure blue smoke and white smoke emissions. It has strong measurement capability for low concentration visible pollutants, and can realize continuous measurement of exhaust smoke. Therefore, the opacimeter can be used to study the emission characteristics of transient soot and other visible pollutants from diesel engines, and also meet the measurement requirements of free acceleration smoke in emission regulations.
