The treatment method for cable water ingress mainly includes the following steps:
Quickly cut off power. Once water is found in the cable, immediately cut off the power supply to avoid the risk of electric shock and further damage to electrical equipment.
Remove the cable. Remove the water ingress cable from the power socket or other connection points, handle the cable carefully, and avoid touching the wires and exposed parts.
Partial interception. If there is water ingress at both ends or in the middle of the cable, these parts need to be cut off, and then the cable head needs to be remade and wired.
Sealing treatment. Seal the sawn cable ends with a cable specific sealing sleeve to prevent moisture from seeping in.
Hot nitrogen drying treatment. Although specialized hot nitrogen gas can be used to pressurize and dry the inside of cables, this usually requires specialized equipment.
Regular inspection. Regularly conduct pressure and leakage tests on cables to ensure timely understanding of their operational status.
Raise and fix. If there is water accumulation in the outdoor cable well or cable channel, brackets should be used as much as possible to hold the cable high and secure it to prevent water immersion.
