Analysis method of common faults of DC high-voltage generator

Jan 19, 2023

Cause 1: DC high-voltage generator cannot be started

【1】 Whether the power supply is plugged in

【2】 Whether the pressure regulating knob is reset to zero

【3】 Whether the ground wire is well connected

【4】 Is the fuse blown

Reason 2: It is automatically protected immediately after startup

【1】 Whether the load has short circuit

【2】 Check whether the overvoltage and overcurrent protection threshold is set to zero

【3】 Unplug the five-core cable plug, connect the ground wire of the control box shell, and then power up the control box separately. If the startup is normal, it is the fault of high voltage generator

【2】 Otherwise, it is the fault of the control box of the high voltage generator

Cause 3: The high-voltage indicator KV meter has error. Open the side panel of the control box

【1】 The DC high-voltage generator repeatedly adjusts the two blue rectangular shunt adjustable resistors in the control board, and calibrates them with a standard high-voltage meter or a precision ammeter connected to the local voltage measurement socket. If it still cannot be aligned, the error is large (>1.5%), it is the mechanical failure of the meter head. Please return the control box to the unit for maintenance.

Cause 4: No high voltage output

【1】 If the high voltage ammeter has an indication but the load has no high voltage, it means that a plug contact of the high voltage circuit has poor contact. It is necessary to plug the contact again when the voltage indication is zero after the shutdown.

【2】 The high voltage ammeter has indication but the load has high voltage output (current indication or corona discharge). The high pressure indicator is faulty or the measuring circuit is disconnected.

【3】 Unplug the five-core plug, ground the control box shell and measure the voltage rise. When the 1.2 pin of the cable socket has invalid AC 0~220 output, no output is the fault of the control box. If there is output, it is generator fault.

Cause 5: The DC high voltage generator of the spherical high voltage current meter works abnormally and is unstable. The 9V battery voltage in the spherical meter is too low. The battery needs to be replaced

Cause 6: Large error of spherical voltage current meter

【1】 The three-core plug of high-voltage outgoing cable has poor contact with the socket.

【2】 The 9V battery in the ball is dead. Replace the battery (the method is the same as above).

Reason 7: DC high voltage generator spherical high voltage current meter has large error. Open the spherical meter to check whether the 9V battery is normal. If the blue potentiometer is adjusted, use the standard current to calibrate the meter.

【1】 Fuse replacement method: poke a sharp object through the small hole on the measuring surface, and the fuse box will pop out automatically.

【2】 The main engine of the high voltage generator is generally not faulty and does not need to be repaired. In case of failure, please mail it back to the unit for repair.

【3】 If the DC high voltage generator control box fails, the maintenance method: unscrew the screws on the frame, and then fold down the panel. Check if there is no obvious fault such as disconnection, please mail the control part back to the unit for replacement.
