ASTM D2265 Over Wide Temperature Range Dropping Point Apparatus

I. Overview

The HZ18112 wide temperature range drop point tester for lubricating grease is used to determine the drop point of lubricating grease in the wide temperature range according to the ASTM D2265 standard, which is the temperature at which the lubricating grease reaches a certain fluidity under the specified test.

II.Technical Data

1 Test holes: 6. Up to six samples can be tested simultaneously.

2 Temperature control range: 0 °C to 400 °C ± 1 °C, with arbitrary temperature point setting and digital display.

3 Heating power: 750W

4 Power: 220V ± 10% , 50Hz ± 1Hz

III.Operation Method

1.Remove pattern → place cup (large opening down) → press smoothed sample until full, overflow from small opening

2.Scrape excess → position cup (small opening down) → hold vertical

3.Insert polished rod upward through small opening until 25 mm above cup rim

4.Press rod against cup (contact upper/lower inner edges)

5.Rotate cup downward in spiral motion (rod rises evenly) to remove cone‑shaped sample

6.Cup slides off rod → smooth uniform film remains inside

7.Check sample → if qualified, ready for testing
