I. Overview

DC discharge rods are made of new insulating materials. It has the characteristics of lengthening and shrinking. III. How to use

1. Extend all telescopic sections of the portable telescopic new-type discharge rod.

2. Insert the prepared grounding wire plug into the socket at the head end of the discharge rod. Connect the other end of the grounding wire to a reliable ground point.

3. During discharging, after the test is completed, return the boost knob of the DC generator control box to the zero position. Observe that the voltmeter on the control box drops to approximately 15 kV–20 kV before discharging.

4. To perform the discharge, first use the metal tip at the front end of the discharge rod and slowly approach the test object that has been disconnected from the test power supply. The discharge rod will discharge the electrical energy through the discharge resistor to the ground. Then, use the hook on the discharge rod to hook the test object for a secondary discharge.

IV. Matters needing attention

1. When discharging the large capacitor sample, after the test is completed, after disconnecting the test power supply, you should wait for a period of time, so that the charge on the sample is self-discharged to the ground through the pressure doubler and the sample itself. Observe that the voltage of the voltmeter on the control box is gradually dropping. When the voltmeter drops to a lower voltage, generally around 5Kv~15Kv, the discharge rod can be used to gradually move to the vicinity of the test product. First, discharge through the gap air, At this time, a hissing sound can be heard. When there is no sound, touch the test sample with the tip of the discharge rod, and finally discharge the test product directly to the ground.

2.The size of the accumulated charge of the large capacitor test sample is proportional to the size of the test sample capacitance and the level of the applied voltage and the length of time.

3. After the test for high-voltage cables over a few kilometers, the discharge time is generally very long, and it needs to be repeatedly discharged. The resistance capacity is large, and a large-capacity discharge rod needs to be ordered.

4. It is strictly forbidden to discharge the test product with a discharge rod without pulling the test power supply.

5.It is strictly forbidden to step on or squeeze the discharge rod with heavy objects, and it is strictly prohibited to bend or break the discharge rod.

6.It is strictly forbidden to wet the discharge rod, which will affect the insulation strength, and should be placed in a dry place.
