Possible factors affecting high dew point readings include:
Use of non-dedicated tubing: If rubber, plastic, or other moisture-retaining pipes are connected during measurement, the moisture reading may be abnormally high. Always use the dedicated tubing provided with the instrument for measurement.
Measuring while connected to power: Operating the instrument while charging can interfere with signal output and raise moisture readings. It is recommended to unplug the power cable after charging before taking measurements.
High-humidity storage environment: If the instrument is stored in a high-humidity environment for extended periods, the sensor chip may absorb more water molecules, significantly increasing the time required to reach a stable reading.
Sensor signal drift: Prolonged exposure of the instrument to high humidity may cause sensor signal drift. In severe cases, recalibration is necessary to ensure measurement accuracy.
Verification method for abnormal readings: If the measurement result differs noticeably from usual, it is advisable to test using bottled SF₆ gas (50KG cylinder, with pressure not less than 1 MPa). Gas from cylinders that have been stored too long or have low remaining volume may have significantly higher moisture content and should not be used as a reference.
